Too bad---I'm sure the wife will miss it. Buy her a headlamp for christmas.
Don't get me started about how they make snowblowers now....
Three weeks ago mine ate a rock, which is a fairly regular occurance here. But instead of snapping the sacrificial shear pin, the machine proceded to munch a worm gear, a pinion gear, and the auger shaft. $225 later, the ba$tard is back in action. Plus I paid $150 to a Bobcat operator while I waited for parts.
I'll be using grade 3 bolts from now on instead of the factory-made grade 5 shear pins.
In a nutshell.... keep that thirty year old machine going as long as you can.
