Does anyone know what you might call the style of ceramic that you see in old baths in Victorian style buildings that has all the small cracks and crackles in its appearance? Its just old distressed ceramic but has anyone seen it available in anything new? i.e. solid surface materials, etc. I’m thinking Wilsonart might make something like it but my chip chain of samples is a few years old and I don’t see it.
Thanks.
Mike

Well, if what you're looking for is a crackle finish, try this: ($180 sq ft installed, cough, cough)http://www.homeportfolio.com/GetInspired/LearnMoreAbout/Countertops/lavastone.jhtml
Or try Formica's Bottle Glass or Sparkle Glass Patterns....
*Cami, Yeah that lavastone might have the appearance I was thinking of if they have a white style. Now just have to find some wholesale suppliers so I don't have to pay the fabrication and installation charge rates. Thanks.Mike
*I don't know where you can get it, but the small cracks in the glaze is called "crazing", or the tile is said to be "crazed" when the glaze has these cracks. If I understand the tile you are describing it would be rectangular tile layed in a "brick pattern". That is, the joints in each sucessive course are staggered by half a tile width, like brick is typically laid.Knowing what it's called may help your search.
*Wayne, Thanks...You know, thats a "crazy" name for it. Bad pun I know...Sorry. But thanks for the name.Mike
*Mike, here in So Cal we have a sreet full of tile/ flooring stores I mean about 6 miles of nothing but tile/flooring stores. Here is a phone number of one i went to and found they were very helpful. These stores do refer people to each other so if the store I reconmend dont have it ask and they will give you a number of a store that might carry it. I have no affiliation with this store or any other store other then I buy tile from them if they are competitively priced with the other stores on the street and have it in stock . They areSierra Tile @ 1-714 -778,6171.i hope this helps you. oh yea if you ever make down here let me know and we can get together im buying.
*Ron, Excellent! And hey, if you're buying I may come out there sooner!!! ;)Mike
*Ill leave the lights on for ya pal
