For thoose of you that know me I’m just a little outfit with work running out of behind. Lately, everything I’m touching is turning to crap.
Job One
New Gable end pricey porch.
Missed a added roof on top of a flat roof. Had to add 3 extra top plates to match exsiting over hang
Old roof 3/8 ply low pitch and FIVE friking layers of shingles. Owner paided for a tear off and new roof about 6 years ago. They trimed the shingles back added new drip edge and shingled away.
Walked inside to attic and after walking thru the house found out I was tracking TAR from my shoe on the carpet.
Job two
Simple basement job, owners doing the “While your here” route. HO is in charge of calling his HVAC guy and having him return and add to small trunks of main trunk. What a mess spend a number of weeks waiting and now I’m under the gun cause he needs the drywall NOW. Did I mention we moved a exsiting door three times for the HO
Job three
Simple trim job with the framers from HELL WHO in there right mind turns a 19yr “framer” with one year Vo-Tech lose to build a house??? All door opening are sized to the finished openings, with drywall done and finish paint. All windows are sitting back from drywall from 5/8″ to nothing in the same window.
GC shakes his head and say’s fix it send me the bill. Think you’ll be done by Friday evening?
Simple remodel, same window folks who I’ve used for years. Special order windows (All safety glass) and the FRICKING truck driver wrecks the truck while delivering my windows. Guess what happened to my windows. Same job, Orange Box special order Anderson door(Big Bucks door) got lost and was sent to wrong store. Went to retrive same door this evening and it looked like they towed it behind the truck for a few thousand miles. Clerk just looks at me and tells me I can use body putty to replace the missing wood chunks
and people wonder why drinking is so heavy in the trade

amen brother! it just keeps geting better and better and better.
All door opening are sized to the finished openings, Are you saying that you are there to hang doors and trim, and where the plans called for a 30" door ... the space between the studs is 30" ?
Whenever you are asked if you can do a job, tell'em "Certainly, I can!" Then get busy and find out how to do it. T. Roosevelt
