Someone told me it was a tool for plugging bungs…………..boat work?
I really don’t know what it is. I use it for knocking out wooden pegs when I take down an old timber frame.
The handle is 22″ long, the head is 13″ long, the round tip is 5/8″ in diameter.
Any guesses anyone?

Thanks.Actually that's the 9'ipe bed on my 1988 Chevy dually 4 x 4. I just went through the truck this past fall. Replaces the bed with pt a number of years ago, but with what I haul on that thing, it just doesn't hold up.The thing I really like about it now is that I've had the seat reupholsterd, I don't have to stick a pillow in the hole now to sit up right.

Blacksmiths punch. The iron is placed over the hardie hole on the anvil, punch is held by a helper, th smith drives it with a hand sledge.

Well I guess I can put it away with my other blacksmith tools..........a 300lb anvil and a cone about 30" high. I think they used the cone to do wagon wheels. My grandfather was a blacksmith in Maine.........little guy, maybe 5'3"...120 lbs...........but boy when he shod those horses.........HE was in controlIt was fascinating to watch him make horseshoesI know that smell instantly
