That's what happens when you start running your piping at the end of the building opposite the incoming service. It's called a "minor re-alignment adjustment"....lol.

That's what happens when
Also what happens if you let the hvac sub go "before" the plumber, too . . . <g>Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)
What exactly is the problem with this, other than it looks funny?
These two pipes are at the loading dock of a 42 story building & will always be in plain sight.
I noticed them last summer when the storage of crap was removed from the area.
They were put in on the original contract before the developer lost his shirt & shut the project down in 01.
Pretty big rule on pipes that are going to be exposed forever----- square to the world, few fittings as possible, straight & plumb, & grade if required by code.
The pic doesn't really do it justice---- when seen in person it looks crooked as he!!.
& with the offset fitting on opposite ends of the riser it makes it even worse.“How many observe Christ’s birthday! How few, his precepts! O! ‘tis easier to keep Holidays than Commandments.” —Benjamin Franklin
Thanks fer the explanation.Keep in mind that what's obvious to you isn't obvious to someone like me who doesn't know much about plumbing.
Is there a hair club for bald eagles?
I know what you're saying. Before I got a plumbing sub I used to do my own copper. My ex business partner used to give me a hard time about being so picky about my pipe placement. My feeling is that the time was well spent though cause like you said, you're always going to see them and they will be in service for a long time.
Were they smoking those cigs with lettering on them?
If you can't do it right, then learn to do it better!
Hey I don't know either, why ya asking me??

Piping used as ductwork supports?
That's embarassing.

Couple of years ago a cable guy came to ran a new service into a friends apartment. Hooked up everything and left. Friend goes to close the window and realizes he can't cause the coaxial cable is coming through the open window.
I had an old 2wire overhead phone line that had its' insulation chewed off by squirrels.
Phone guy came out & said he can't fix it cause it's not actually "broke".
I pointed something out away from the line, he looked, & I reached up & cut the line with my dykes.
he goes "yup it's broke I'll have a crew out in about 30 min to replace"“How many observe Christ’s birthday! How few, his precepts! O! ‘tis easier to keep Holidays than Commandments.” —Benjamin Franklin
