Now is the time of year I like to purchase a tool that I’ve been wanting. This year I’m leaning towards a Metabo 4 1/2″ grinder and will make a point of getting a good selection of accessories with it like a diamond blade for kerfing masonry, and various brushes, grinding discs and sanding disks.? Possibly someone will see this and buy it for me?

Maybe a Senco SNF40 finish nailer for me.
Friend of mine has the 6" Metabo grinder for welding-it's a great tool. May get one for myself after I hook up my TIG unit.
*So far I've got a Stiletto 14oz Titan down on the list... much more to come.
*Hey Rick, Have you checked out the latest Tool Crib catalog? I believe the SFN40 was advertised under $300. I think thats the best price I've seen on that model.
*Thanks for the tip Frank-I'll check it out. My local tool guy will usually match a catalog price too.
*A motor-sickle! I know it's not a tool.....but hey....I'm getting excited! Fast, loud, shiny, and fast....and loud. After that, it's up in the air. Maybe black....maybe red.....fast and loud though! Jeff
*That's OK, Jeff. I am not allowed to buy myself tools for Xmas like I usually do. I was able to buy a socket set, but that's a gift for my brother. On a brighter note, DW and I are exchanging gifts that we each can share. So, she's getting a surround sound system from me. I'm getting a pool table from her, but shhh! I'm not supposed to know. (It's great to be first one home, and play the answering machine: "Hi, this is such-and such, and we want to coordinate delivery of your pool table. Please call 1-800...")
*I think it would be nice if Santa brought me about $20,000 worth of clamps.......My shop would look just like Norm's and I pitch the 20 different kinds I've collected over 30 years. Maybe make it $30,000 if I'm to have as many as Norm. Joe H
*We're getting a new dust collection system rigged up for the shop. My wife says it's HER Christmas present. You'd be surprised how much saw dust one man can bring home in his clothes.Ed. Williams
*That's not a bad deal.....getting half a surround sound system and half a pool table! When's the party? Cathy and I are going low budget this year to try and squeeze in another trip before she starts her Sat. school for the next two years! Jeff
*Looks like I may have to put off buying any new tools, my hole hawg jambed last friday and I did get it to free up but it doesn't sound good.rh
*If Santa is reading this forum, I sure would like to try one of those Milwaukee circular saws now that they have a left blade model.Or,it could just be coals and switches like usual.
*I buy so many throughout the year that I believe I would be overwhelmed with guilt if I bought something for myself for Christmas. And I think the wife would wholeheartedly agree!!!!
*Wayne, lighten up!! Christmas is no time to be feeling guilty, go for it. And why not a new truck to haul 'em around in too? Joe H
*Ordered a Mag 77 from amazon. Great price, free shipping over $100. Breaktime posters helped me decide on this year's Christmas gift to myself. The opinions were overwhelmingly in favor of this saw, plus I used a skil wormdrive back in October and knew I had to have one.Merry Christmas, 14-0
*I'm buying myself a couple tons of coal so the shack will be warm all winter.
*Bought myself a portable Honda generator in case the Y2K bug comes back. 25% cheaper than last year, but my wife still prefer a candle-light dinner for Christmas.
*Ive been trying to convince the wife she needs a new band saw for Christmas, but so far no luck!
*I Just Bought it!! A new transmission for my 1997 GMC that only has 43,000 miles on it.The unfortunate thing is that GMC will not even help a little.Merry Christmas General Motors, My next truck will be a Dodge.
*Pro-Dek don't feel bad, I have a '96 Taurus that needed the engine replaced after 30k miles because the timing cover gasket blew and leaked coolant into the block thus destroying the bearings. Ford wouldn't cover it because the warranty had just run out. and my dads 97 continental needed a new transmission after 22,000 Miles! fortunately they covered that one. BTW, I got myself a Bosch jig saw for christmas.
*I was able to get the Ryobi table saw system as an early Christmas present this year. It has been one of my best tool investments. Comes with a sliding table, the factory blade cuts great, it has a world of power, AND it is very quiet. Oh yeah it only weighs 100 lbs. Absolutely the best table saw I have ever carried on to a job site.
*Tim, I hear that it needs alot of tweaking. is this true?
*Steve, Sorry it took me so long to answer your question. I work around the Nashville area and am only home on weekends. My saw came out of the box needing no adjustments. The sliding table works like it should, the tilt gauge was/is dead on, the fence was even paralell (sp?) to the blade from the factory. Happy Holidays, Tim
*I purchased a 100 horse mariner outboard for the boatback in october, with the wifes approval. How about that. Now I'am ready for those King salmon that will be running in February.
*Pro-DekBet you had a 700R4 in that truck. My Chev 3/4 ton went through three of them. Finally sold the truck as is without a tranny. Oh well at least it was deductible. And my tranny guy also warned me about the Dodge tranny, when mine was in he was fixing one with about 30000 km on it. The Dodge was in for the third tranny repair, I think it was a 5 speed manual but I'm not sure.Joyeux NoelScott
*Yep, the transmission is the weak point in the newer Dodge trucks, especially the 1 ton diesels. I've heard they've done something about it in the last year or two but not sure if it will make the guys with older models any happier...
