What’s your method on finding metal stud – sheetrock over plaster

Need to find studs. Sheetrock over plaster over presumbly metal studs. Not 100% if the sheetrock was just liquid nailed in place and or screwed in… Will a rare earth magnet & or measure out 16″ from the corner of a wall bea good starting point. I took out Ziron to it and it more miss than hits..

I got a couple of cheap Stanley stud-finders, and they work fine for me.
'Course, I gotta hold'em far away from me, or the beeper sounds all the time...
Cow magnet on a string is what I've used for years. Haven't seen anything more practical yet.
You clearly need a new tool.

plaster over metal studs? A stud finder will do you no good if it is indeed plaster because there will also be lathe.
