I’m lookin’ for some used (read cheap) scaffolding — 5’x5′ standard frames. What kinds of places would you look to try and find some used? I’ve checked with the local tool rental places, they sell off every other year, keep a waiting list of people wanting to buy. Been reading the trader rags for a couple of months, nothing listed there yet. Any ideas where to find (and NOT a pawn shop!)

Exclusive scaffold rental outfits. WACO scaffolding.
Waco is where we bought ours, but even used it still wasn't that cheap. Their rentals are very cheap if you don't need it permenantly. The only thing is you have to put down a large deposit.
Two 6'6" panels, 3/0 walk thrus. Two cross braces. Four adjustable feet. Three LVL planks. Four stay clamps. Used. $290. Thought that was cheep.
Yeah, you're right, that's not that bad....but if you need a lot of sections, it adds up quick! Maybe my perspective is skewed since we were able to get 5 complete sections for $85/each (In addition to our Waco sections). If you don't need it forever, renting it from Waco is REALLY cheap.
Hey, I have a question for you since you're online (weather have something to do with that?) You had mentioned prices for drywallers here in Denver, and I tried to send you a message, but it bounced. I wondered if you could answer a couple questions for me? We're looking for someone to do drywall on our new house and I thought maybe you had a couple recommendations. [email protected] We'll provide the scaffolding! :-)
Now back to our regularly scheduled discussion on scaffolding. Sorry for the interuption.
Talk to a masonry contractor.
Our rental yard unloads its scaffolding periodically. DK why, maybe they just like nice clean logos on everything around town. $120 a section a couple months ago. Thought that was a heck of a buy.
