Hi everyone. I just tried for my final inspection on the house I’ve been building. The inspector said I need to comply with whole house ventilation codes, meaning I have to install “fresh air ports” in all bedrooms and living areas (5 in all), and I have to put my utility room fan on a timer. I can’t believe that after all my efforts to carefully insulate and air seal my house, I have to drill 4 inch holes into the sidewalls for these fresh air ports. He said most builders use windows with these ports built in to them.
How do you guys/gals deal with this, or do you have to?
