hi everyone. ok I have been trying to track down a window leak for the past few weeks its a vinyl double awning with two fixed lights above so its like four window units laminated together.well I finally narrowed it down to where it was leaking at the lamination between the upper and lower units so my plan was the remove the trim cladding there and re caulk it and replace the trim cladding. but before I could do so one of the good old boys that thought I was milking the job went up there and get this drilled holes in all the hollow mullions and filled em full of silicone. then he goops the crap all around the trim cladding between the units.now I’m thinking what he did by filling the mullions defeated the purpose of the weep holes and if water does get trapped in there and it freezes wont it expand and crack the frame? I don’t make windows so I’m hoping someone with more expertise than me can tell what I can expect as a result of this jack asses hasty attempt of repair.
thank you

Hate to see you hang out there without a response!
I'm unable to configure a response due to a lack of info about the cross section specs on the unit you described. What brand, also?
I would call the manufacturer for an opinion about the situation......and what the warranty is, after the "modification".
The "GOB repair" should remove you from responsibilty for the product and its installation....IMHO.
Kind of a strange circumstance!

The GOB will never catch your drift.... it will only insult and infuriate him and you will lose anyway.
You are not responsible for his actions, nor are you responsible for pointing that out, nor should you correct the situation. (if it is correctable)
Quickly & Quietly move away from the situation.

Collect your money due for time and tell the client that the good-ole-boy just took over the job and the warrenty.
Then tell them that they might get lucky and not have to buy new windows.
