window flashing membrane, now or later ?
I’m currently building a home in N.C. and will be installing the windows this weekend. Should I put the window flashing membrane on now as I install the windows as is normally done or should I wait until I am putting on the Hardi siding ? The reason I ask is I won’t get to the siding for 6 to 8 weeks and don’t want the membrane to begin peeling off.

Are you installing housewrap? Felt?
With housewrap (I'll assume you are using this) you need to wrap the house first, install the sill flashing, install the window, and then install the side and head flashing. Check the Tyvek, Typar, or AAMA websites for the typical details.
I personally would not leave wrap, felt, or flashings exposed for very long. We just installed a bunch of felt, windows, and flashing this week, and we're installing the siding next week. You can use staples around the edges of the flashing to keep it in place, especially if you are using felt, which it doesn't adhere to as well as wrap.
Anyway, if you are going to start wrapping and installing windows, get ready to side shortly thereafter.
Thanks for the quick info. I Tyveked the outside walls as I framed them lying down. I'm moving at a slow pace because my help can only come on the weekends so I'm solo most of the time. I just hate to buy the materials twice and spend the time to install it twice.
Make sure you are familiar with Tyvek's specs on how long it can be exposed, and their window install detail.
