Anyone know of a source for a solid mahogany entry door with raised panels, mortise/tenon construction. Doesn’t have to be pre-hung, finished. And reasonably priced. Seems like the majors want >$2500 for one. I’m hoping to get one in the 3 figure range.

Jeez, let us all know when you find that door.
I just bought one for a customer for $300, and this was a lousy solid core birch veneer door. True it had some windows on it, but it was strictly plain jane.
Quality doors cost big money. The lumber alone is probably $300, and probably takes a guy a couple days to make one up. Add shipping and profit, and there you are.

I found a good source of different doors, all mahogany and oak, at Lowe's. Go to the Millwork desk, ask to see the A. A. & W catalogue. These doors are different from what seem to be the "me - too" looks of all the other doors. Different glass, panel design, and overall look of the doors. Also, the doors seem to be reasonably priced. Just bought a 36" door with 2 sidelights (12" ea.) price about $1800.00. Add shipping and other costs.
I was most impressed at the availability of a unique door for what might be a slightly lower price.
*Jim: We just ordered a custom pair of mahogany entrance doors 10 feet tall and 6 feet wide with a 36 inch radius on the unit, I believe the doors are 2 1/4 inch thick and they are raised panels. The set with jamb is in the 4500 dollar range and the very best quality of door that I have ever encountered. The custom door builder alsofurnished our interior raised panel solid core radiused top doors with jambs out of solid maple in the 650 to 750 dollar range. If you are interested in an excellent custom door built to any configuration just e-mail me for contact information. blessingsbrisketbean
*WOW! Try an over-run salvage building supply in your area as I've seen them there in the 3 figure range. I built three for a client recently at a price way above that(high 5 figures). Now I'm building a front door with raised panels in wormy chestnut(old wood) for our new(200 year old) log home. Oh, those custom mohogany doors were hand carved if the price shocked ya. Didn't shock my client though...lotsa rish folks moving to our area.......income galore! and I'm booked up for years!(When am I gonna go flyfishing though WA!)Check Stallings Salvage if there is one in your area.
