I posted this a few days ago but it hasn’t appeared and, since I’m
new at this, I might have screwed up. So here it is again and my
apologies if this shows up twice!
I’m wondering if anyone has experience with Kahrs Woodloc flooring.
I want to put wood over a concrete slab foundation and am interested
in the product due to its ease of installation and it’s 1/8th inch
top veneer layer. Cons are, obviously, the high price; but are there
any other negatives?
Are there any other comparible products with a thick top veneer that
can be floated or, possibly, glued down to the concrete? I’m resisting
building a wood subfloor between the concrete slab and the flooring
but am open to any suggestions at this point.
Thanks
Glenn

I'm a big fan of Kahrs! Laid a dozen or so and was impressed each time. The tolerances are superb; hard to see the seam. As engineered floors go, the are the best. I can't say anyone makes as good of floor. If you don't need that quality, Bruce and Tarkett are probably next.
Take time to level out your concrete and any one of them will look better. Also be sure to use a 6 mil vapor barrier over concrete even if its above grade.
Thanks for your reply! Kahrs makes several types of underlayment,
one which has a vapor barrier and, I believe, a cushion above. Are
these cost overkill or a good investment?Glenn
