i need to replace appr. 15 doublehung (one over one) windows in my house. outside frames are in good shape, inside is old chestnut trim which i definetly don’t want to disturb. RO is 31 x 58, so should the windows be 301/2 x 571/2? deductions seems to vary a bit between the manufacturers. i want wood on the inside and aluclad or vinylclad on outside. wood on the inside is a must because i need to stain them to match the chestnuttrim (the old ones were like that) . i want quality but for a fair amount if thats possible. is pella architect series classic top of the line ($483.00 incl. tax, half screen ,ins. glass, standard hardware) How about Trimline series DR200 aluclad wood replacement windows($440.00 incl tax with lowE glass) what about other manufacturers? i am surprised anderson doesn’t make a replacement window, vinyl windows are definetly out , the look cheap and feel cheap( i used them in my attic and i hate them) Please i need advice thanks a lot! I think Andersen's replacement line is Renewal.
I am currently searching for almost the same..
so far...I checked out Marvin, Hurd, and Windsor, and Kolbe and Kolbe
I really am likeing the Kand K..still waitin for prices to come in. They have an invisible balance sys. My customer (also in a Log home) doesn't want to see vinyl jamb liners, and no cladding on the outside.
Marvin looks like they can ship parts, and Windsor may be a second choice, depending on price..
Just google the mans. listed and see whats up, for your likeing, the R.O.'s DO vary, and they are PDF files to DL.
Good luck

I used Marvins for the same application you are describing. I liked them because the jamb liners, though visible, are less obvious than the other windows I saw. They were about $500 each including tax, for roughly the same dimensions as yours, two years ago. Found a start up window dealer in my area that was willing to measure and deliver the windows even though I was installing them.
