I have just finished installing bamboo flooring for a client who also wants me to install a wet bar in his livingroom. Get this the house has a shower stall in the LR closet. Never seen that! Anyway, He wants the shower removed and a wet bar built in its place. What I am looking for is suggestions on wood that will go with a natural bamboo floor. Any suggestions will be appreciated!

I'm sure you've already thought of this, but let me say it anyway- why not keep using bamboo? It's available in 4x8 sheets, though expensive, or you can use flooring creatively, plane off the bottom grooves and stuff.
Otherwise, I would think something with strong grain pattern, like ash or doug fir, would complement the linearity of the bamboo.

Black walnut.
Gaboon ebony.
Wenge.
All are quite dark and will be a nice foil for the pastel shades of the bamboo.
Here is a little console cab done in wenge.

Was that really what you were looking for?

Thanks guys! I was thinking a darker wood would be interesting, but the bamboo could work as well. I'm starting on designing the piece and can present a couple options.
