I just finished a deck using 2×6 cedar. In my infinite wisdom I used Primeguard Plus screws for composite decking instead of stainless. Stupid, I know. My question: Has anyone tested Primeguard Plus for composite in cedar? Will it stain? Do I swap out all the screws for stainless before it’s too late, or am I safe?

If the finish on the screws did not chip during install you should be ok. SS is cheap compared to replacing all the decking.
Just spoke with another fellow builder who thinks the coated screws will be fine, but who hasn't tested them. Anyone have experience with these in cedar? More opinions please.
Where are you located? If you're on the ocean, no way. If you're inland, it might stain. It won't fail in any case.
Located in Minnesota.
I think you would be better off calling Primeguard customer service. Ask if the cedar will eat the coating over time.
On second thought, back out one of the screws and see if the coating is intact. If not, swap out with ss.

Did our fence with a combination of galvanized and Primeguard screws and nails. Non-structural so it wasn't a huge concern, but a portion that's been up for 3 years isn't showing any staining or deterioration.
