You Guys Have To….Check These Tools
Check out these extremely easy power tools I discovered while in Atlanta at the Woodworkers convention. They’re made by Festool, which is German in origin and have been in the US for only four years now. The precision is unparalled. I picked up a few items including this router that has adjustable speeds and can be handled much like a jig saw. Lightweight, doesn’t crank up and jerk like others I know.
The first pic was used to spline some Harris-Tarkett lonstrip(Hardwood flooring) with this stairnosing. Pic number two shows their plunge saw that has a vac attachment. The same is available for all of their tools. Collects 95% of the cuttings. Never a dull moment at this exhibit with the Festool girls! I also found the time to sneak in front of the camera at CNN, but they wouldn’t lety me do the sports:(

Nice stuff, Ken, thanks for the pictures. The tools look good too.
yea those two festools gals should give jobsite tool demos... Not a bit of work would get done.
More pics....No, I'm not a sales rep...yet:)

Sawzall? I don't think so Calvin. The tools are geared more towards the cabinet makers. Here's the website for all to enjoy.

He he he, a precision sawzall! With a dust collector!
Kind of defeats the purpose of a sawzall...
I've heard a lot of their tools need special size blades and/or bits. Is this the case?
I'd hate to be limited in sourcing things like that or be screwed into a premium price.
I recently purchased a Fein Multi-master for hardwood floor repair. The tool was priced reasonably enough; $179.00 thru Tool Crib. When I went to buy a small 1-3/8" blade it was, get this, $44.00!

"I've heard a lot of their tools need special size blades" That is true with their plunge circular saws but there are special adapter rings available where one can use a standard type blade. Their blades run from $25 to $65. I bought the router and 1/4" shank bits fit fine. The maximum would be a metric type at the size of 8mm.
