Outside of dropping big money on a Lamello, the PC 557 does the job. I use one at work and have the same one at home. Well worth the money, besides what else works when you need a biscuit.

I have used the dewalt 682 prior to this machine and it doesnt hold a candle. I use it for trim work and the balance is fantastic. I also use it on mitered corners on hardwood inlays and boarders and it has ample power for any type of wood Ive used. Great tool.

Nicely balanced machine. I replaced my old PC 555 with this model and the difference was amazing. Originally, I purchased the Dewalt DW682 but found, like the editors, that the machine was just not accurate enough. Having used this machine for a few weeks, I am glad I purchased it.

excellent tool, easy to set up and use. Has sufficient power and adjustments to handle pretty much every job. Price is a bit higher then some (why it doesn't get a full 5 stars)...but then having the ability to adjust over 90 degrees is very useful - most joiners top out at 90.
