   My client wanted something special on her home because she felt that by going with vinyl siding she was giving up too many details, but maintainence had become too much on her older home.

   She found a photo of a gable end she liked on an old victorian house and asked if we could replicate it. This was a challange as the pattern was anything but symetrical.

   I enlarged the photo and created a grid so I could copy the pattern and then using a router I cut the pieces out of a full sheet of Azek PVC. I routed the edges and fit them together on a sheet of plywood attaching them on the backside.

bldginLJ bldginLJ writes: Seasoned Builder -- great idea and execution. I'm actually building in Southern California -- and was looking for something exactly like you've done here. If you are anywhere near SoCal, let me know -- maybe you can execute it again -- only on a 4.12 pitch vs what you have here.
