Tom Jamin built this kitchen for our recently built (but not quite finished!) house in the British Columbia interior. The house is small (975 square feet) so the kitchen serves multiple functions to make best use of our small space. Tom has a passion for local wood and this kitchen allowed him to showcase interesting pieces from his collection. The kitchen makes use of salvaged spruce lumber (from a local mill that specializes in sound wood) and a unique striped fir log (found by the owner of the same mill). The ceiling is beetle killed pine from our property and fir beams from the local area. The maple burl for the island came from a bit further away, the B.C. coast, and was acquired from a client in exchange for some carpentry work.
