Utility-Knife Blade Dispenser
DeWalt's blade dispenser is built with its hinged tray at the bottom
Some jobs—laying roofing underlayment and hanging drywall—tear up utility-knife blades like a kid destroys a new pair of sneakers. For these tasks and others, it pays to have a large, safely stored stockpile of replacement blades handy. Consider trying the new blade caddies from one of Stanley Black & Decker’s brands.
Rather than pushing up on the bottom of the dispenser while trying to slide a rust-stuck or oil-lubed blade out the top, the new dispenser has a hinged tray at the bottom. Open the tray, and a single blade is waiting to be picked up. Used blades slide in at the top of the unit (where the blades were dispensed in the old-style models), so your garbage bags don’t get shredded. At $12 for a unit with 75 blades, these new dispensers don’t cost any more than the old ones, which means they’re an innovation that everybody can enjoy.
