If you need to nail on a small piece of molding with tiny brad nails, you could try to hold them and hope you don’t smash your fingers, but there’s a better way.
Steve Mott of San Diego, Calif., came up with a clever way to hold small nails and keep his fingers well out of harms way. All he does is use a tiny strip of cardboard, pokes the nail through it, and then nails it in place.

Or you can get a Warrington pattern hammer if you have a lot of small brads or finish nails to put in. Then you will not have to worry about finding lots of cardboard.
this is a link to a page in Garrett Wade's catalogue that shows what they look like. I have an old one that I have used for years, it comes up seldom, as I have gotten so lazy with the various air powered nail guns for all sorts of nails, but I never lose track of where my little Warrington hammer is, there are times when it will work where the nails guns will not.
Nice. However why not use a needle-nose pliers to hold the nail/brad? that works too.
Please stop the commercials. I don't care about "hair products". Don't be so cheap.
