I gotta ask. What the hell happened around 3/20/02? Every so often, I check your profiles (very few filled these forms out) to find out what part of the country/ world you are writting from and most of you started posting on or around 3/20/02. Was this after some convention, article/ ad in FHB promoting the web site, or a result of some alien abduction (and if so, is there a sign up list for the next one) which was never reported in the Enquirer? What gives?
PS. How does someone post over 4,000 post since then and have a real job? HA!
Replies
just a guess, but that may be when the system switched over.

That's correct--we switched over to Prospero then, and we all had to re-register.

That was the beginning of WWIII but was pretty much over by the autumn of the year. The radiation fallout covered the ground and a lot of the greenery doesn't grow anymore. But I've notice a great amount of new growth and bright posies lately that hold much promise for the future. Looks like whoever dropped the bomb knew what they were doing or lucked on on the survival instincts of the masses.

over 4000 in roughly eight months....that's roughly twenty posts a day, but I've determined it has a dormant period, so activity is erratic. When active, I've clocked the Piffin at over six posts per minute, but that's often on political topics where as you long as put out the Republican party line, no critical thinking is required or encouraged.
I'm still working on my formula to derive his weight from the abvove information....I've got him at 184 right now, but I had to guess at the latitude. If I'm way off, that's in Celsius, BTW, if that gets me any closer.

I think Piffin's posts are usually thought provoking; he's wrong when he disagrees with my liberal views of course{G}, but at least he's thoutghfully wrong!

Think of it as a public service Jeff....until you guys get a critical mass of people with opinions based on fact, not gut reaction and jingoism....and elect the leaders you deserve....the rest of us are picking up the slack. Piff- is that a lake I see in the background? Half of good livin' is staying out of bad situations.
ya - I think this is frenchy's project -
Dang it Piffin, now they all know where no one lives.... LOL....
If that's a lake in the background and a septic is there then somebody outta fix that place. Half of good livin' is staying out of bad situations.
There is a for sale sign out on it. The only value is that it grandfather's the building site. Once that place falls in, (I know, I know...) no more permit can be issued for the property because of setbacks. .

Out of curiousity what kind of dollar value is placed on something like that. How large is the lot?
Wish it was in my neck of the woods. Kind of reminds me of the original cover of George Nash's 'Renovating Old Houses' before and after picture without the after. Half of good livin' is staying out of bad situations.
It is across from my 1/4 mile driveway. I don't have waterfront and I got the cheapest lot on the island aabout 25,000.
The current owners are reputed to have paid 67K for that. Personally, I think they figured they could fix it up a little and make a killing in real estate.
Long time ago, a family owned it and used it when it was nice as a weekend retreat.
Father died in an airplane crash and ...
...long story short, the widow clung to it, ( the old man is buried on the site) and when she died, the daughter was the only survivor and she needed the bucks - couldn't afford to keep it.
Is this a tear jerker yet?
Happy family once gone on hard times. The house is an icon of hundreds who found the same destiny. Could be any of us.
Good to be thankful for what we have..

Aren't you kind of tempted with the place since it's so close to yours? You could walk home for lunch. :) Half of good livin' is staying out of bad situations.
If I had the bucks, my name would be on it but not for that kind of money..

A lady recently moved back here to her little hometown with more money than sense. Big divorice settlement from a microsoft guru. Bought up half the town kind of thing. She bought up two houses on the lakefront and joined them together into one house leaving nothing of the original structures but one beam in order to satisfy the code.

It is a lake in the background and my canoe is on it. The way it's freezing tonight, I'll have to bring it home.
