3/8" foam wrap instead of Tyvec ?

While discussing re-siding my house with a contractor, he suggested a 3/8″ foam wrap (called amocore ?) rather than using Tyvec. Have any of you used such a product ? Is this worth considering ? I will be using seamless steel siding. Is this product an air infiltration barrier or a vapor barrier ? Thanks.
