Pittsburgh Corning has lots of glass block in different sizes and some shapes. Is this hollow glass block what you are talking about? See your yellow pages. If that’s not it, plastic, such as plexiglas, lexan, etc., comes in various thicknesses and in large thick sheets. A commercial plastics supply house should be able to get what you want and either cut it to size or point you to a fabricator who can. The drawback with this stuff is that it is EXPENSIVE!!!! A factory I once worked in made stuff out of 2 inch thick plexi. Ralph

Ran into the very same problem a few months back. Oh, you didin't say it was a problem? Well, it was when I was trying to find a 4 x 8" GB. Seems I could find them everywhere in the good ole' days, but that's not the case today.
WECO and PPG Corning makes this size. However, judging from my recent expierience, you have the option of ordering way ahead; getting the job too wait for the GB; or going with an alternative. In my case, the owner just decided one day this would be nice. Okay, fine; one phone call later and I tell the owner it will be > 8 weeks, still want them?
Any busy tile supply should at least have the catalog for each mfg. Cheers.
*Thanks, Rich.Fortunately this isn't a rush job. Some genius put a wall of block with alternating gaps in an alley down in the city, perfect place for pigeons and the resulting s**t. Not only a mess and unsanitary but kept blocking exterior drain, causing water to back up into the door of my clients art gallery.

Anybody out there ever run across a nominal 4" x 8" glass or translucent plastic block? Something basically the same size as a conventional brick. My local masonry suppliers don't seem to be familiar with anything.
