I need to replace some floor boards in my 50 year old house. The
boards are about 2in wide and about 3/8 inches thick and made of oak. I called a bunch of suppliers but they don’t make anything like this. I only need a few square feet to replace some floor.
Any ideas of where I can get these? I am in PA, right outside Philadelphia.
Thanks

*Matt-Where outside philly are you? I'm about 50 minutes west.About how many boards are you looking for...and what lengths? White or red oak? What grade?I have some bundles of white oak flooring that are about 20 years old, and never been used. I'm not sure about the width...I can check though. Also it the quantities are not to high, it would be pretty straight forward to make up some piece to fit what you need.
*Have him check the edge profile - I can almost promise you that 3/8" x 2" 50 years old is V-Groove, not tongue-and-groove. PS - Are they nicely figured, ie quartersawn? I'll bet they are.Jeff

I only need about 10sqft or so. I live right outside Philly - in Wynnewood.
How do I tell if it is quarter sawn or v groove?

I've got a box of it I had milled and never used. It is quatersawn white oak with a great figure. I'm in Jersey and work in Princeton. I'll never use it so I'd like to see someone find a good home for it

I checked the edges of the existing flooring and it has no grooves. It is not shiplap, tongue and groove or v groove, it is just a straight edge.
I don't need too much, definately less than 20sqft (well, between 10-20). It sounds like some of you have some that may work perfectly. I am no wood expert, but based on the coloration is seems to be white oak (how do I tell for sure?) I am not sure if it is quartersawn.
If you have a price in mind you can call me at 610-896-8952 in the evenings or email me at [email protected]
Thanks for all your help, I am glad I found this group.
