All,
A customer told me this past Friday that when I returned to her home on Monday that I was to open her bathroom windows. She told me that she has wooden sash windows & storm windows. I told her that I would be glad to open them now, thinking that they must be stuck for whatever reason. I went into the bathroom and succesfully opened the wooden sash window. I then proceeded to look for the releases for the storm window and realized that it had been installed inside out. I explained the situation to the homeowner who then had me check all of her windows and Lo! and Behold! there were 5 storm windows installed inside out.
I am never surprized by what I see, only by what I don’t.

Thats a hoot Dale! I thought you were going to say she wanted you to open the window because your helper stunk up her bathroom....wait a minute thats my story.
Another I-thought-I'd-seen-it-all story. As an outside sales rep for a window manufacture I responded to a customer complaint that her new sliding window was about to fall out when ever she opened it and then it next to impossible to close. I went to open the window, not really looking too close at it first, and it shot open and then the sash hung by the top sash balance. "See what I told you" the customer yelled "you've gotta crappy window!" I restrained both my anger and my sarcassim and stated very calmly.."No you've installed a single hung on it's side!"
This soon became a new product we offered our "Power Slider" (just kidding)
I guess what I want to kinow, was:
Who installed the window ???
I'm giving a party in honor of Ghandi's birthday. No refreshments will be served.
It's been a few years but I believe it was "a guy who's installed thousands of windows" according to the homeowner but then again that's every body in the construction business.
As one old timer told me "installing windows isn't rocket science, it's just common sense but if you've got much common sense you don't stay in construction!"
