Is there a way to continue an existing wood floor into a new addition and obtain an invisible or nearly invisible match without using some kind of border to seperate the new from old? The existing flooring is 3″ brazilian cherry (finished with water-based acrylic) installed in a hallway. The hallway has been lengthened and two new rooms have been added. I can cut out some pieces (random length) from the existing floor and match in the new pieces but how do you fasten them without being able to toenail? I’d appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

Can you lay the new boards in and screw them from underneath? Maybe remove the bottom half of the groove to get them in, or drive them in from the end (if it's open)?
*Are your butt ends leading..... or your tongues....or your grooves......did I miss this ?Your goal is to get a new leading edge with the tongue leading, if that is not the case, you make up a new piece and add a spline so you can reverse your board. Refinishing that section should blend everything. This is dark wood right ? Some of it is already face nailed isn't it ? (along the wall ) Set the nails and use a stain putty.
