Get rid of it. Wives are supposed to wash dishes. Just keep ther heating elements tuned up....

Probably not filling all the way. This causes the timer to delay. Check the float switch, fill valve, etc.
turn of the preheat and dry cycles...
run the DW... check for full water fill.. no ya say.. float valve water sensor isn't letting the DW to the next step... might have food or some kind of gunk in it..
it may be the timer..

I be pretty sure it be the timer.
gets to rinse and stays rinsing.
fill float works
if I run a full cycle, it stops at the heating stage.
Timer looks like ~100$
I will see if DW want to fix or buy me a new DW.
Not what I wanted for VDay :(

"Timer looks like ~100$"At least.I did run across a website that sell rebuilt ones. That was a couple of years ago so I don't remember the details.PS, I just looked it up. Mine was $72, but that was 12 years ago. BTW, the DW is still working after 25 years.
Some units have a "sani-cycle" that heats the rinse water to about 3000 degrees. These have a thermostat that stops the timer until the target temp is reached. If this is your case, try running the unit without using the "sani-cycle" setting. Could be the thermostat.
