I have “artificial stucco” on the front of my home. The windows are trimmed with 2×6 textured to look like stucco(sort of). The caulk joints keep failing causing the wood trim and framing underneath to rot. What should I use to seal these joint. Can I replace the wood trim with artificial stucco trim.

You probably have a flashing problem in that you have none to keep the water from going behind the siding. Caulking really won't do the job. I can't remember much from them, but I have seen recently articles on problems with DriVit (Fake Stucco)on residental applications. Seems to me it was due to poor flashing. This maybe more involved than new trim and recaulking, if it is your home owners insurance may take care of this.
*You should have a qualified synthetic stucco do the repairs to your home. The trim could be made from foam and covered with the siding material. Strict following of tolerances and calking procedures have to be followed and you will have no problems.
