In our ever ending search for new produts to use in our home, my wife has found a hardwood flooring from Award, with a ceramic coating. She is a materials engineer, and does not think that a thin ceramic (?) finish could hold up under a tensile load, such at the edges of a high heel shoe. This is a wood product coated with a ceramic(?) finish. And also If anyone has any input on this I would appreciate a response.

Jim,
Award's ceramic finish will resist scuffs and scratches from high heeled shoes but the wood will probably still deform from the pressure. We had Award flooring installed in one of our homes almost two years ago and it is performing well.
