Harbor freight has these 7.25″ blades free replacement for life…. cuts anything…
thought…hmmm i have a bunch of sheet corragated metal roofing i need to cut… if it makes 2 cuts i’m cool…
i just cut all the 4″ metal C channel stock 1/4″ thick with that puppy…. 24 cuts less than 30 seconds a cut… all clean burr free ready to weld cuts…
i put it (the blade) in a junk skill saw $9 pawnshop clearance table…. just casue i didn’t want the fly’n metal inside my good saws… and chips of metal do fly… full face protection required….
anyway after those 2 uses and today i made about 20 V cuts in some 2″ angle iron i’ve got all the good out of that blade I’ll return/exchange it for a new one… but WOW that puppy cuts steel better than anything i have short of my shear…
just thought i’d pass it on…

What are those blades made out of and did you buy them up on Summer?

they look for all the world like a standard carbide tipped wood blade... yes on summer... mine was in a yellow sleeve type pack... but my plumber went and a couple after watch'n me cut with em... and said his were in a different package but the same blade...
i was making some angle iron frames today where i had to cut out the V notch to bend in the sides to make a 90... it was only 1/8" and i could cut dead on the line.. had to measure cut bend, square up and weld... 70" x 40" got it down to 27 min per have 5-6 more to go... i killed the blade on one cut... my fault... so i cut one with a 4" thin friction blade... took me 2x as long... so i quit till i replace the harbor freight blade :)
thanks for drop'n by...

Well, it was $20, but I was later thinking it was the best 20 bucks I've spent in a while, so the post caught my attention.
Subscribed to a year of the FHB online archive yesterday, they tell me it should stay that price (half off) for a good while since I signed up at that price. Been getting some good articles from way before I got the mag, and it is easier than digging through the oldies to look for what you think you saw a while ago.
