Sometimes I wonder why I live in Wisconsin. Our high temp for today was -5 and supposed to be -30 air temp tonight.
And, for first time in 7 years I had two frozen Pex pipes. Fortunately, the frozen pipes were in an accesible area and thawed pretty quickly with a hairdryer.
So, I’m defintely going to have to add some insulation. Would foam be better than the regular “pink” type insulation?
Thanks for any advice…

I presume that, being in Wisconsin, this is inside a structure and not in a crawl space or some such.
Sheet foam between the pipes and the outer wall, foamed into place, is probably the best option. Don't put any insulation on the "inside" side of the pipes.
It's a basement bathroom, the offending pipes are about a foot above grade. I think one floor joist is all that seperates the pipes from the block foundation. Weird that it's never frozen before, but it is really cold. Looks I'm off to the my local big box store tonight for some foam. (I'll post my water heater results when my multimeter warms up, which should probably around June. Thanks again for your help on that one).
Maybe they started freezing because your WH isn't working properly (from the other thread).
