I’m working on refinishing kitchen cabinets and want to use the best quality, non-yellowing oil based paint I can buy. I plan to spray. I understand all about the importance of surface preparation, priming, etc, and plan to put a lot of effort into preparation. I’d like to ensure I’m using the best quality paint product I can buy.
Thanks, Lou

I'm not a painter....but it has been my experience that all oil base paints yellow with time.
You might be better off to consider a latex paint with several coats of clear polyurethane to finish.

Poly over paint will look even more yellowed because it fiolters the light on the way through. Fine on yelllow wood, but it really stands out on white paint. My choice for years on painted cabinetry is Benjamin Moore Satin Impervo

I prefer Satin Impervo as well. But I have used it throughout my own home and can attest to the fact that it yellows over time as well.
In rereading my original response, I realize I should have specified water based poly.
I have had success with this process.

IME, there's no such product. The only way would be to melt in some lead to your white paint. Lead can be toxic of course.
try water base paint..then clear coat with water based lacquer. there ya go. tony
Lou,
Check out this bulletin from Benjamin Moore regarding this subject:

Thanks for that link. How did you find it? Is there a list of technical bulletins somewhere on their website?

Thanks. It looks to be easy to find in hindsight.
Part of my problem was that http://benjaminmoore.com directs you the American website while http://www.benjaminmoore.com directs you to the Canadian website. You would think one company, one website. But no, 2 entirely different websites!

Try the MURALO ULTRA waterborne high gloss trim paint. I have been using it for about 12 years. It is the best paint I have ever used. Gloss as good as oil (Impervo), goes on beautifully, does not yellow and doesn't chip like oil paint. It wiil darken slightly with age but the only way uou will know is if you put on a fresh coat beside it. Buy the best quality brush and add a little "Flood's paint conditioner". Easy clean-up and no odor. (I believe it can be sprayed but I haven't tried that yet).
