Hi,
A friend of mine has one of those gas instant water heater units. It’s situated on the exterior wall. he asked me to box it in. What would be the best material to use bearing in mind that it also needs air circulation. He expressed a disire for it to blend in with the clap board of his 1920’s bungalow.
All comments appreciated,

Because of the exterior location and the heat of the water heater I would try to make one of Hardie fiber cement. It is available in sheets, clapboards, shingles, and other forms. http://www.jameshardie.com It can be painted to match the siding.
