Bluestone overlay on existing concrete
I have a concrete landing and one step in front of the house. Concrete showing it’s age. I know (atleast I think I know) it’s common to attach bluestone/slate to concrete using thinset, can it be done using Polyurethane Construction Adhesive? Concrete block retaining wall capstones are glued down with this adhesive, why not the blue stone? Anyone have experience with this?

Thinset is better. I had a client who had a walkway done with bluestone fastened down with construction adhesive, and after a year, a majority of the stones had cracked due to voids underneath. I ended up taking up the entire 30' walk, putting down an even layer of thinset, and new bluestone. It's been 2 years now, and no problems.
