A few weeks ago I noticed these in the parkinglot at the local Target store and have been meaning to get a pic. Don’t know how well they work, but sure looks like they’d be fun to play with.

those do look fun, from the size of it, I think they would work really well
It takes studs to build a house
Those are telehandlers (forklifts) with snow blades replacing the forks.

I've looked at them... one of those..."man that would be fun to have type things" think how high you could stack the snow...

Yeah, that'd make 'em real attractive for parking lot work. Which is where they were sitting in the picture - ready to go. 1st time I've seen snow plows on them, though. http://grantlogan.net/

I'm thinking Dieselpig was contemplating getting one of those.

Once he gets a look at these pics, the operative word in your post will be "was".

I think he's had one for several years, but I don't know if he has snow gear for it.

Next time you decide to "lose" a 1-ton flatbed or dump, let me know. Would be happy to see the Miss. again and visit my cousins in Dyersburg.Live in the solution, not the problem.

She's not a Palmer is she?
Hope you'll be someplace that's well air-conditioned.
West Tenn. in August--not paradise.
Congrats.Live in the solution, not the problem.

Nope. Williams. Really sweet girl from a really interesting family.
I'm familiar with W TN weather. Nearly every time I've been to Memphis, it's been nearly a hundred and I've had to wear a suit.http://grantlogan.net/

You giving away 59 Electra's? LOL
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChIdFwQwoYM&feature=related
<g> i'm kinda weird about the 59 (1959 electra 225 convert) It's not something i love/fanatic about... but out of all the cars i've had stacy has always liked that car... strange in that i've had some pretty cool cars...
so someday... like maybe in the next year after the condo project... if i have a dime left to my name.... I'll chill and rebuild the 59... might do a full custom... i do a search on ebay just about everyday for 59 parts so there is not much i haven't stockpiled for the project...
was at my parents yesterday (me and the little one drop'n in to say happy new year)... and my dad asks... "what are you ever going to do with all that stuff in the garage"? LOL well i haven't lived there in over 20 years... but i have a nice collection of engines, TR3 parts MGA parts even have a 1959 bugeye sprite front cap... not to mention full top & bottom chest tool boxes... and a few motorcycles...
i could spend the next 5 years easy just getting rid of "stuff"
a 12 step program would only get a few feet into the door... i need a few more steps
p
happy new year guy
I hear ya. I've got a few of those one of these days (Bucket list) projects. Not near as many as you though. :)
I'm Just be thankfull that I have the means and abilities to do it if i do get around to it.
BTW What kind of DVR did you get for your camera system? I'm probably going to build one for my new house. I'm trying to think of a way to not have it writing to the hard drive 24 hours a day. That's the hardest thing on a DVR is it's constantly running.

to the hard drive.... but the computer it's on... thats about all it does... i could see use'n a large jump drive maybe? you have amuch better grasp of these things than i
p
I'm just trying to figure out a way to not use the hard drive all the time. That's the downfall of all DVR's. Eventually they burn up because they are writing and working 24/7.
If I ever get around to having a house warming party this Spring you have to come up. I've got some nice home automation and alarm stuff planned out. Of course that goes in the same catagory we were just talking about. "One of these days when I get around to it." LOL
Coz the boys in the hood are always hard.

You've been gone for 20 years and they're just now asking what you're gonna do with the stuff?! I have this sneaking suspicion that you might get your packrathood honestly ;)

LOL ..... i'm 180degrees out from my dad... he tosses everything... i use to have something apart on the bench waiting for parts... my parts would come in... and everything i had on the bench was in the trash... i use to check our garbage cans before pick-up because no telling what he he threw away... this man cleans the refrigerator out once a week... when we eat over there if you leave the table for 30 seconds... your plate is gone and in the dishwasher...
BUT... when i was 16 and pop was out of town I built the garage... 24x30 had to dig out the side of a hill to get a level spot (hired a backhoe i saw going down the street) he got back in town and stopped the 12/12 roof that would have given me an upstairs workshop... made me match the low pitched roof of the house... so it's kinda my garage.... the concrete floor is as dead level as i think anyone could get... i used it as a surface place building racecar frames...and... it's not like he doesn't use all the tools and compressors...welders... bins of fasteners... blast cabinet... ect... that i left there...
it's 250ft up hill and around a bend from the the street... i never put in a drive... so it's pretty rare that anyone puts a car in there... but there is room.. all my motors are on rolling stands and they line up under the bench... the rafters are full... :) I painted many a car back there and built alot of race cars & motors....
cost per hour used and it's cost has to be less than 1cent... spent days & nights on end back there...
p
Wish I had one of those. That is what is known as quality time. Throw in a kid or a parent to be sharing it with ya and it probably doesn't get any better.jt8

Seems like a lotta $$ just sitting there. We've only had one snow worth pushing so far this year and might not have more than 1 or 2 more this winter.jt8

Those are not really bobcats, they are made in France for Ingersol Rand who used to own Bobcat. They are telehandlers but don't go anywhere near them!
They are a maintinace nightmare and extremely prone to breakdown.. If you want a smaller telehandler the Gehl 553 and it's new variations is the machine to own.. Reliable as an anvil and very affordable.
In the larger sized telehandlers you can't beat the Ingersol Rand (642,843,1056.. ) reliable as an anvil and very durable,, plus it's massively more stable than the competition.. Small telehandlers equal big maintinace with everything except that Gehl..
PS, telehandlers make lousy snow plows! They work fine but at the end of the season the boom is shot and needs major maintinace.
I would think that any serious snow moving would do a real number on the boom, since it's so long back to the support.
Bobcats are used commonly here for small snowplowing jobs, I saw one this morning with a snowblower on it, doing sidewalks.
