Bought LP Smartside soffit instead of siding by mistake
So…I made a Facebook marketplace purchase of what I thought was LP Smartside 4X8 siding panels, but it turns out it is Smartside soffit.
I know the Smartside site says not to use it as a siding, but does anyone know how well this would hold up. I’m stuck with 35 sheets, but I don’t want to put it up and it not last?

depending on your style of house , you could do a board and batten design. sort of a reverse T-111 look
use some 3/4 stock for the battens and set up the spacing to land on the seams with whatever spacing works for you for the rest of the battens.
just a quick thought
good luck
Not sure which version you bought, but did you see this exception to the "don't use it as siding"? Their "strand" substrate panels can't be used as siding, but their "fiber" substrate can. As best I can tell, the strand is used for textured panels and the fiber is used for smooth panels. "LP SmartSide Soffit products are not designed for and are not
suitable for use as siding or trim.
Exception: 8 ft. long and 9 ft. long fiber substrate soffit panels.
Reference the stamp rating on the back of the panel"
