Has anyone developed a general way to price build-in furniture that would encompass building and finishing shelving and base units. Doors and drawers would be incorporated into the base units. The alternative is breaking the things apart piece by piece. I’ve had a string of built-in type jobs and I’m trying to speed up the estimating process.
Thanks for your experience,
Joel

I work those estimates at a lineal foot price.
i.e., $500.00/lineal foot of base cabinets, $800/lineal ft. floor to (8') ceiling.
Figure out what it costs you to build a typical 30" unit say, and work from there. Add for drawers/doors and stain grade.....reduce for fixed shelving, paint grade.
As I am typically the designer of said cabinets, I give an ESTIMATE based on lineal footage with an understanding that it is not until the actual design (which I charge for) is completed, and an ACTUAL price can be determined.
