How do I calculate # of bags needed ? (can’t remember how much is in a bag)
Is it 1/2 cubic foot per 60 lb. bag, or 80 lb?

Structural steel and strong connections help a raised floor resist high winds and water.

Thanks.....couldnt remember
I just found out that a pallet of 80lb concrete bags at Home Depot (and probably elsewhere) contains 42 bags and that it is 1 cubic yard (27 cubic feet).
So that's .64 cu ft/80lb bag... or thereabouts.
actually a pallet at HD contains 36 full bags, three torn and spilling bags and is missing the final three!;)
Welcome to the Taunton University of Knowledge FHB Campus at Breaktime. where ... Excellence is its own reward!
so you pay the $147 for that yard, you still have to haul and mix, haul the empty bag. all for 1800 psi mix. 3000 at $70 is cheaper for ready mix
I wasn't recommending mixing 42 bags of concrete, but it's a good rule of thumb to know.
I wouldn't mix a yard of concrete by hand, but there are enough cheap laborers around here that some contractors find it more economical.
1 yard redi mix here would be $130 plus a $200 small load charge.
Quickcrete 5000 comes out a little better than 1800 psi, and I can mix up 42 bags and have it placed by 9 AM, request a 1 yard load delivered anytime before 3PM they will tell you you're smokin crack. Don't like finishing at 1 AM.
It has its place.
Right, and it also isn't air entraining.
