Hi there-
I posted this question on Fine Cooking-Kitchen appliances and someone suggested I post it here….
Has anyone had experience with this new countertop material-cambria? We’re being told it combines the best of granite with silestone. In advance, thanks for your input.

AFAIK Cambria and Silestone are both quartz composite materials.
The same basic product, just different brand names.
Cambria is one of many engineered quartz surfaces out there. They are all very similar in composition and cost, though the cost can very dramatically depending on what part of the country you're in. One company in the world-Breton-owns the patent on the machinery and process for making EQ and everyone buys the license to make it. The major differences between manufacturers is if they use quartz chunks-like Duponts Zodiac-or if they use quartz sand-like Caesarstone. Most use sand because it is cheaper. The Zodiac looks better because it has more depth. They all claim stain proof, no sealing required, and color options. Warranties are similar except I think that Zodiac is an installed warranty meaning that they will pay for tear out and re-install if necessary.
