I just used Sherwin Williams Visible Solutions ceiling paint. It’s goes on purple and dries white. I know Glidden has had a similar product for a while, but I generally stick with better name paints like Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams.
Sometimes, when painting white on white and depending on lighting conditions, it’s a little hard to tell where you’ve already painted. Especially when cutting in against white crown molding. This new stuff from Sherwin Williams really makes it a lot easier. Plus it dries to a nice bright, flat white.
It doesn’t splatter any less than the Benjamin Moore Muresco ceiling paint that I’ve been using, but it doesn’t splatter any more either.
I think I just found my new standard ceiling paint.

I think I just found my new standard ceiling paint.
I'm talking to myself again, but maybe someone else wants to hear what I have to say to me...
After today's paint job using this paint, I don't think I found my new ceiling paint. It has poor coverage even when painting white on white and it's so thick that it's a lot more work to avoid lap marks.
Also, it dries too fast and the tint that helps to know where you've been is gone by the time you complete a row. You can still see where you've been by catching the paint in the light, but that sort of defeats the purpose of of the tint.
Yes, it does make it easier to cut in against white crown molding when you're only painting the ceiling, but overall I think I can do a better job with the paint that I was using before. Namely, Benjamin Moore Muresco ceiling paint.
I didn't really notice these shortcomings on the previous ceilings. Probably because they were in better shape and not as porous as today's ceiling.
" I'm talking to myself again..."
that happens when you've worked alone for too long.
Voice of experience LOL
Usually, I only talk to myself when no one else is around, but on this internet thing, you never know who's going to be listening in :-)
But seriously, in case anyone ever did a search on the paint I mentioned, I didn't want their only hit to be post by me that I no longer feel provides good information.
I'm kind of known amongst my customers to talk to myself.
Someone's gotta tell me what to do. But I don't always listen to myself.
Must be the fumes ... the pink stuff stinks ten times as much as any latex I've ever used.
