I just completed a simple bathtub tile install. I used a mastic adhesive, 6″ ceramic tile and latex fortified grout over a Denshield substrate. I want to wait at least a week(is that long enough?) to seal the grout with a silicone sealer but need to use the tub/shower in the meantime. How soon after grouting can I use it, or should I cover it with poly to keep it dry before sealing the grout? Can I caulk the corner joints before sealing the grout or should this be the last step? Thanks very much for any and all advice?

A week is plenty. But it depends on the grout mfg and type of sealer regarding how dry it needs to be before sealing. A poly covering will keep water off the tiles but it won't prevent moisture from entering the grout. I tell customers to wait at least 48 hours after grouting before using the shower, but aweek is better Just make sure the grout is bone dry before sealing. Caulk before sealing.
Reacquaint yourself with your inner child and take baths for the next week. Minimal splashing.

*Most silicone sealers are a complete waste of money, Jason. They must be constantly re-applied to be effective (like every 6 months), and many yellow with age, which makes your nice new tile job look like sh*t.My recommendation is to use a penetrating type sealer, like Miracle 511 or Sealers Choice Gold. They are very expensive, but honestly you have to spend some decent money to get a sealer worth your labor.Seal first, then calk. Make sure that each is compatable with the other. Call the tech service line for each product you intend to use. Some calks will not stick to certain sealers, and visa versa.Good Luck.
*Double check your grout instructions too as most will recommend you mist the grout a few times per day for a few days before you let it dry out.Jon
