In a circulating “instant” hot water design using 2 hot water heaters, is it absolutely necessary to place both water heaters next to each other? Can they be linked and circulated with one pump, yet be in 2 different locations of the house? If so, how do you accomplish this? Are there advantages to placing them immediately next to each other? Are there advantages to separating them?
