I see and here of consultants making big decisions for companies and getting paid extremely well for it. Mind you these are only suggestions in an overall plan. After review, priorities are made and more intense research is provided by the consultant,T=M(Time Equals Money), more of it for the consultant. The added research may mean I am asked to look at a buildings different considerations,i.e. new roof, build to suit for tenants, drainage problems, new bluestone steps, etc. No charge for quotes that really turn into evaluations(borrow now rates are low), am I wrong to think THIS IS CONSULTING!
What does it take besides some brass balls, to qualify yourself? I see you can now be a home inspector via the web. Is this why I think the report they submit may not be worth the paper its written on? But they still get that $400-500.
Is anybody familiar with construction consulting and formal training needed? What level of insurance must you carry and what liability do you have to accept by giving your opinion and getting paid for it?
All input is appreciated.
