HF already sells a corded circular saw for cutting metal, similar to this without the chopsaw rig.

Sometimes a carppy tool that you only use a couple of times is just as good as an expensive tool you use all the time.Rebuilding my home in Cypress, CA

"kenhill3, Apostle of the Obvious"Paul, thanks for paying homage! :o)Certainly didn't mean to offend. You are obviously well informed; though some people think HF is the schnizzle. I actually use them for disposable items (which describes most of what they sell). To me, though, HF power tools are just plain scary, and I do not feel safe using them. To each his own.
Try this. Put your cursor anywhere on the page, right click, go to page info, click on "translate into english", wait a few seconds.
Enjoy...
Neat, there must be something lost in the tarans though.

Sounds like a jinglish translation. Pretty similar to Chinglish.

LOL! Now that was worth trying. Almost as good as the manuals that come with the tools!

From the add, it is powered by LIon battery, 14.4volts, which is not sold here, nor is it likely to be sold here anytime soon. Sorry. But take heart, if successful there, it might come here in their 18v line. Maybe.

Grizzly makes one that holds a grinder, which (at-your-own-risk), could be fitted with a wood-cutting blade.

ouch! I would like one that cuts wood as opposed to metal. A lot of my work is touch up stuff after a renter moves out (some baseboard/stop molding/shoe molding). I just hate lugging around a 50lb saw and would like a tiny battery opperated one for a few cuts...
Bosch makes (maybe made) a 24-V 10-inch Compound Miter Saw, that shows up on Ebay. They also make an 18-Volt version currently available new on Amazon.
And, Makita makes, (maybe made) as 18-V slider, the LS711.
For small trim I use the Bosch 1640VS, "Finecut" Saw with the miter box accessory. Works quite well for most small moldings and trim. It also cuts PVC pipe, and light gauge metal with the right blade.
I put threaded inserts into a fold down metal sawhorses to mount the miter box on, so it is quick and easy to set up, and transport. It may be a little less convenient than a battery powered saw, but it sure is light weight and handy.
