Is seaming 1/4″ Corian for shower surrounds the way the 1/2″ material is seamed in vanity and countertops a normal approach to a Corian shower surround installation? What are the things to watch out for in the install?

It's been a while so I don't know if there's a new technique...............at the seams use battens. I'd leave an 1/8" or so gap in the 1/4" sheets and cover it with a batten. I'd make the battens up with whatever corian I had. I glued the sheets to the wall with a construction adhesive, but I used hot melt to hold the sheets in place until the construction adhesive set. I seem to remember to be careful what construction adhesive to use because some colors could be seen through the corian.........if it were white, let's say. I went to Corian school in the 70's so I'm sure a lot has changed since then, but if you have any other questions I'd be glad to help! jocobe
If you poke around the Corian website, all the installation instructions are available there. I think they call for a hard seam on the back wall (with a ship lap joint), but it's been a little while since I looked at it.
