So, we’re trying to put down a cork floor that the client bought from Lumber Liquidators. It’s prefinished and ummmm… imported from the same folks that put antifreeze in your toothpaste. Quite thin (4mm?). Using water base flooring adhesive on plywood, can’t get the edges to remain perfectly flat. Just a tinyyyyyy bit of lift, but enough to be a problem. Tried a little more and less open time before putting the tile down, didn’t seem to help.
Any idears?

Well, if you're taking advice from me, you know you're already in trouble :)
Do you have anything flat and heavy enough that you can put down over the cork while it sets up? Maybe the extra weight will keep it in place?
Hey, I take plenty of advice from you Steve!
Ultimately,we're doing 500sq ft of it, so weighting it would be ummm... weighty.
Happy 4th ;)PaulB
Hey Paul,Well, I guess that's not quite a practicable solution for 500 sf. LOL Hope it turns out well.Best wishes for a happy 4th to you as well!Steve
I used similar stuff in my master bedroom and had the same problem, still do. Same thing in the kids bedroom. Little puckers at all the joints. You could try using oil based panel adhesive to minimize water expansion. I did run over it with a 100 lb linoleum roller and that helped some.
Just one of the problems with trying to use the cheap stuff. Next time use Marmoleum Click. It's the bomb.

Sorry, but I have not been able to get 20% of the joints to stay tight.
It seems to be a common occurrence with this manufacturing company and they make other products under different names.
we did use yellow glue on the butt joints to try to avoid this problem and let it dry up a little and then joined the full row.
we ended up with a nice looking installation but not the quality we wanted.
Good luck
Any idears?
Yes; a new clause in your contract relative to owner supplied material.

watching the thread like a hawk.............
The floor looks beautiful Mrs. Johnson. I wish the last one we did came out as nice as this one. I'm thinking of putting this in my house.
I know you know, but don't point out the flaws. It's a design feature.[email protected]
Nah... this would never ever get by her. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to catch her mic'ing our beadboard seams.PaulB
I put down bamboo from Lumber Liquidators in a clients house vs. Teragren in my own. The extra money for the Teragren was worth. You get what you pay for from LL....junk!
