IIRC, I bought 12/2/G UF for about 24 cents/ft. before the big run-up.

Last week I bought several 250' rolls of 12/2 romex for $79 each at the ugly orange box. That's .31 per foot. Bought one 250' roll of 12/3 for $132, or .52 per foot.
when I built mine it was .12 to .15

Can't comment directly on #12. Delaware - February '06, 250' of 14-2 Romex = $ 29.95. Same store - August '06, same 250', 14-2 = $59.99. My guess is that the price increase on #12 would be roughly the same on a % basis; I'd call that 'bout double.

Never underestimate the value of a sharp pencil or good light.
1k' rolls of 12-2 jumped up to $415 in May. It has been creeping down a bit since then. I think it is just over $300 now. IIRC in Feb it was about $180.

Best garage sale buy of the summer was paying the guy his $5 asking price for 200 ft left on the roll of 10-3wg.
Paid $7 for 150 ft of 14-2 wg at a different place, still happy.
Boeing surplus store raised its price on surplus copper wire from $1.25 to $3.00 in August. There still is not any available anytime I've gone by. Got 300 ft of 3/0 Cu last year for the $1.25#
