Our insulation sub recommended having our drywaller install RC channel on the first floor ceiling to help deaden sound since we’re installing hardwood floors on our second floor. I have three questions: about how much more would it cost to add this to 1500 square feet of ceiling? Also, would it be worth an extra $800 to insulate between the two floors? If we choose just one option which would be the most effective?
